Akarere Henry

Picture
Akarere is the C.E.O for South Waikato Pacific Islands Community Services which was established back in 1991 to deliver a range of community health, education, social and Whanau Ora services focused on supporting Pasifika (and non-Pasifika) families to improve their health and wellbeing, and reach their full potential.  She is a Cook Islander born and raised in Tokoroa, a place where she says the Pasifika community is thriving.  Her organisation - SWPICS has taken a lead role in supporting South Waikato families during the COVID-19 pandemic, and delivered health services such as COVID-19 vaccination clinics and testing, as well as ensuring the welfare needs of families are being met.
